Farm Stays in Tasmania

Tasmania might be the most farm-shaped place in Australia. Almost every road on the island runs through grazing country, orchards or berry farms, and the scale is human: small paddocks, hedgerows, weatherboard farmhouses with smoke rising from the chimney. Tasmania rewards travellers who slow down. Base yourself in one valley for a few nights, learn the farm's rhythm, and use the days for short hops: Hobart's markets and Bruny Island from the Huon, Launceston and the Bass Strait coast from the Tamar.
