Calendar Syncing

If you host your accommodation on other platforms like Airbnb, or bookings.com, you can sync your bookings across platforms to prevent guests from double bookings. When your place is booked for a select date on one, it’ll automatically block that date on the other platform, helping you manage your bookings.

Keeping your bookings and availabilities up to date is important to keeping your guests happy. Farmshare's calendar sync feature helps make this easy.

This quick guide will show you how to set up Calendar Sync with Airbnb and other booking platforms. The whole process takes less than five minutes.

Steps to syncing your bookings with Farmshare

Step One: Log into your Farmshare account and head to the setting/dashboard page

To access the setting page, simply click on your username (see image below). From the settings page/dashboard you can access a lot of important tools to help manage bookings. 

From here you can edit your account settings, access your private messages, notifications and manage your bookings.

Step Two: Navigate to ‘My listings’ and find the short stay listing you would like to sync your bookings for and Click on the ‘Availability’ button.

The 'Availability' button lets you edit the availability of your listing. This includes the blocking out of certain days, and setting up your calendar sync, to synchronise your bookings with Airbnb and other platforms. 

If you need to make changes to your listing- such as price, pictures, or description you can do this via the 'Edit' button.

Step Three: Scroll down until you see the Calendar Sync section and generate a feed URL

In this section here you can use the 'General Feed URL' button to generate a link that you will then put into Airbnb and other platforms.

Step Four: In the ‘Bring calendars in’ section click the ‘Add’ button to paste in the URL provided by the other platform to sync your bookings.

On Airbnb and the other booking platforms you can generate a link and use the 'Add' button on Farmshare to attach them to your Farmshare listing.

Doing this allows our platform to talk to their, and their platform to talk to ours.

How calendar syncing works- iCal

Calendar syncing works with any other platform that uses the iCal system, this includes: Airbnb, Google Calendar, VRBO, booking.com, camplify, hipcamp, and others.

So other platforms can see your bookings on Farmshare you will first generate a URL that you can then paste into the other platform’s website. After you export this URL to the other platform, bookings from Farmshare will be reflected automatically on the other website’s calendar, depending on their website settings.

To import, you’ll need to get a URL from the other website’s calendar and add it to Farmshare. On most websites, you can find this in a section dedicated to calendar importing and exporting.

Tip: Make sure the URL ends in .ics, because other URLs won’t work.
