Booking an Experience
Learn how to book an equestrian experience on Farmshare, from searching and signing up to payment and confirmation.
Farmshare is built for the Australian horse community, making it easy to discover and book a wide range of equestrian services and experiences across Australia.
This guide walks you through the full booking process, from finding an experience to confirming your booking.
Finding an experience
You can search for experiences directly from the Farmshare website. Available experience types include:
Short Stays
Horse-friendly accommodation, ideal for travelling, competitions, or holidays with your horse.
Trail Riding
Trail riding experiences offered by local businesses. Some listings allow you to bring your own horse, while others provide horses for the ride.
Riding Lessons
Lessons and coaching sessions from a variety of instructors and disciplines.
Agistment
Agistment centres or private paddocks with availability for short- or long-term agistment.
Other
A range of other horse-related services and experiences.
You can browse by category, search by location, or use the Map View to explore experiences across Australia. The map is especially helpful for finding local services or planning trips.
Setting up an account
To book an experience, you’ll need to be logged in to Farmshare.
Creating an account is quick and easy. You can sign up or log in using:
Once logged in, you’re ready to book.
Booking your experience
After logging in:
- Open the experience you’d like to book
- Select your preferred date and time, if applicable
Different experience types are booked in different ways:
- Trail rides and riding lessons are usually booked by the hour
- Short stays are booked by the night
Some experiences are offered to groups. When selecting a time slot, you may see a note such as “X spots left”, indicating how many places remain.
Under Number of guests, you can:
- Book just for yourself, or
- Increase the number to include family or friends
Once you’re happy with your selection, click Reserve.
Payment
Clicking Reserve will open the secure payment page, where you can:
- Review your booking details
- Confirm the total price
- Complete payment
Farmshare uses Stripe to process payments. This ensures:
- Secure transactions
- Protection of your payment details
- Industry-standard payment handling
Booking confirmation
After your booking is complete, you’ll see a confirmation screen.
You can view your booking at any time from your Dashboard, where you’ll find:
- Booking details
- Dates and times
- The exact address of the experience
If needed, you can also contact the host directly using the Message button on your booking.
What about agistment bookings?
Agistment listings work a little differently.
Farmshare does not handle bookings or payments for agistment. Instead:
- Listings allow you to contact the property owner directly
- Booking terms, pricing, and arrangements are organised between you and the owner
This gives both parties flexibility to agree on details that suit their specific needs.
