Horse-Friendly Farm Stay in Margaret River

Welcome to Big Valley Big Valley Campsite is set on our working sheep farm just 10 minutes from Margaret River, offering a relaxed farm camping experience with plenty of open space, animals and country life. We already welcome guests travelling with horses and have a dedicated area that works particularly well for them. Horse stays are generally located in our Long Paddock, away from the main campground. While this means you are a little further from the amenities, it gives you more space and allows you to camp right alongside your horse. Guests need to bring their own portable horse yards and everything required to safely contain and care for their horses during their stay. We ask that the area is left as you found it; however, we're happy to assist with the disposal of horse manure and used hay bags, so you don't need to take these away with you. As Big Valley is a working sheep farm, horse riding is not permitted around the farm itself. The great part, though, is that an access gate is located approximately 200 metres from the Long Paddock, providing access towards the surrounding forest and an extensive network of tracks to explore on horseback. You'll also get to enjoy everything that comes with staying at Big Valley. Our farm is home to sheep and plenty of other farm animals, and guests are welcome to join our daily 4pm sheep feeding. During lambing season there may also be pet lambs around the campground. Our main campground facilities include camp kitchens, toilets, showers, laundry facilities and a dump point. Because the Long Paddock is located further away from these facilities, it is best suited to travelers who are comfortable with a more spacious, self-sufficient style of camping. We love being able to offer horse owners somewhere they can bring their horse, camp beside them and explore the Margaret River region together.
