About The Spotty Dog at Ferncroft Welcome to The Spotty Dog at Ferncroft — a boutique, off-grid farmstay tucked into the peaceful Matcham/Holgate valley on the NSW Central Coast. Set on a semi-rural property only minutes from Erina Heights, Terrigal, Foresters Beach and beautiful local trails, The Spotty Dog is designed for guests who want to slow down, breathe out and enjoy country-style calm without being far from beaches, cafés and village life. Our cottage is private, comfortable and full of relaxed charm, with two bedrooms, a new bathroom, luxe linen, outdoor spaces, a fire pit, and access to the property’s tennis and pickleball court by arrangement. The property is off-grid, using solar power, rainwater and septic, so guests can enjoy a more grounded and sustainable stay. For guests travelling with horses, The Spotty Dog offers a fully secured paddock at the back of the cottage, with water available. Your horses will be in full view from the cottage windows, so you can relax knowing they are close by and easy to keep an eye on throughout your stay. Horse stays must be arranged in advance so we can confirm suitability, access, safety requirements and paddock availability. We want both visiting horses and our resident animals to feel safe, calm and well cared for. The property is also home to our much-loved animals, including goats, chickens, geese and our dogs. Our little Ferncroft family is part of the experience — guests may meet Gaston, Maurice, Fifi, Mrs Potts and our free-ranging chickens during their stay. We adore our animals and ask all guests to help us keep them safe, calm and respected. The Spotty Dog is ideal for guests looking for a peaceful farmstay escape, a Central Coast base close to beaches and bushwalks, an off-grid cottage experience, a pet-friendly stay by prior approval, and a place to rest, reconnect and enjoy fresh country air.
